This year is particular because we are going to celebrate the 40th anniversary of The University of Warwick, the 25th anniversary of Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), but most important of all, it is the 16th intake year of IGDS in Hong Kong, so we are going to have a “Memorable Night”. |
| 19/03/2006 | PolyU Alumni Homecoming Carnival 2006 The IGDS Alumni will participate in the "Federation Cup Soccer Tournament". Our match will start at 1:10 pm at Keith Legg Sports Field. Other programmes, including trial horse-riding, orienteering, inflatable bouncers and “mini car-racing” for kids, handicraft and snack booths, stage performances, food fair and campus tours will be arranged by other alumni associations. |

| 10/03/2007 | PolyU Alumni Dinner Gathering in Beijing Venue: Grand Hyatt Hotel, Beijing To commemorate the 70th Anniversary and to strengthen the relationships with alumni in the Chinese Mainland, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) will organize a "Dinner Gathering for PolyU Alumni and Students in Beijing and Tianjin" at Grand Hyatt Beijing on 10 March 2007 (Saturday). This dinner gathering is specially organized for: 1. All graduates and existing students of PolyU's academic programmes currently being offered jointly with other collaborating universities/institutions in Beijing and Tianjin ; and 2. All graduates of other PolyU programmes in HK/China, who are now living or working in Beijing and Tianjin or who happen to be there at that time. It would be an opportunity for us to gather our IGDS alumni working in the region. In the beginning of the Year of the Pig, let’s get together for a warm, cozy spring dinner. Besides eating and chatting, we have invited Eddie Hui, an IGDS MSc graduate of 1998, to share with us his experience on his route from an IT service engineer to a sales & management trainer. Eddie started as a Service Engineer for Wang Computers in 1981. After 2 years of service, he achieved Outstanding Engineer Award in 1982. He has worked for HP HK, HP Canada, EMC China, StorageTek Taiwan, Sun Microsystems Greater China, Getronics HK/China and has been very successful in getting many big contracts. He would share with us how he views technical person has a role to play in the sales/revenue of a company and how he sees the prospect of IT professionals in Hongkong. |
