About the Speaker Mr Marco Szeto Yuen-Kit 司徒元傑先生is an acute artist and professional curator. He studied BEd in Art Education at the University of Warwick in the 80s. During his study, he was the first Hong Kong student to hold a solo art exhibition in the university and his works were collected by the university and Coventry city museum. In the 90s, he obtained his Master Degree in Chinese Art History from the University of Hong Kong and Post-graduate Diploma in Museum Studies from the Sydney University. He is currently the curator of Xubaizhai of the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Marco was awarded the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Public Service in 2010, for his outstanding contribution to the promotion of Chinese painting and calligraphy in Hong Kong About the Talk Marco has organized many exhibitions including the renowned national treasures Riverside Scenery at the Qingming Festival (清明上河圖) from the Palace Museum and Prosperous Suzhou (姑蘇繁華圖) from the Liaoning Museum , and also many solo exhibitions of 20th century masters such as Wu Guanzhong (吳冠中) and Feng Zikai (豐子愷). The artworks attest to unquestionable artistic and academic value that makes the exhibitions epitomize the glory of the Chinese culture and art. The talk will be a retrospection on the organization of these memorable events. Using slides and video clips, Marco will share with participants many interesting behind-the-scene stories from the exhibitions he curated. Dear Students, Welcome to IGDS family, this course is organized by The University of Warwick and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. After more than 20 years of continuous development, now the IGDS course is reputable both in mainland China and Hong Kong. Graduates will be able to meet the requirements of management positions in nowadays enterprises. In order to get the qualification, there are two very important gates to pass. First, the PMA (post-module assignments) and second, the PROJECT. For the PMA, students must get a minimum pass mark, or it will lead to a re-take of module. Failed students will take months to re-take and re-do the PMA. Moreover, there is a loss of HKD12,000 on each re-take module. According to past records, the estimated time for students to get the PMA results from the department will be about 4 to 6 months. Therefore, students will have difficulties to access their own abilities and have no idea on how to improve their performance. - Preparation of PMA - Common mistakes on PMA - What is plagiarism, what are the penalties and how to avoid it - How to get higher marks in PMA After the presentation, there will be a Q&A session for students who are having further difficulties on PMA. Date: 21 October 2017 We are living in an overcrowded airspace. The current Instrument Landing System (ILS) can no longer entertain increasing the capacity in most commercial airport. The development of next generation navigation and landing system is mandatory for aviation safety and greater capacity. For outsiders, the understanding of the primary navigation systems will help us understand more about the situation. This also pave a foundation in understanding next generation navigation and landing. By introducing a new positioning and landing system based on the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), we shall have a better picture of future navigation and better solution of the overcrowded airspace. In the seminar, the speaker will illustrate the latest advancement and the futuristic of RPA related to human in the next decade. The highlight of the seminar are: 1.) emergence of RPA 2.) evolution of RPA 3.) what is RPA 4.) What can RPA do for you Technologies are changing the world. Most researches indicated that many jobs may be destroyed in coming future. One day, you may find that a colleague sitting beside you is a "robot" which does exists in our world. Robotics process automation (RPA) is quite mature. It is time to understand digital colleagues (workers). In this semaniar, I will discuss what RPA is and RPA can do. And, explore whether it is possible to work in human-robot combination mode. The speaker-Dr. Roy Wong has more than twenty-five years hands on experience in software development, including ERP and RPA solutions. He worked in a world-class manufacturing firm for twenty years and was a Chief Technology Officer in a public-listed conglomerate. Roy acquired a Doctor of Engineering in 2020 with one granted and two pending patents. Two of patents involves machine learning and RPA technology in inventory management.
