| PolyU Alumni Homecoming Carnival 2008 |
 |
Our soccer team participated in the inter-alumni soccer cup tournament held during the carnival on 9 March 2008. There were 8 teams competing for the tournament. In the 1st round, we won 1:0 against MBA AA and entered semi-final against Hong Kong Community College AA. After the 20 min. match, the score was 0:0, so 9-yard fix kick had to take place to determine the winner. Unfortunately we only made 1 score while the opponent made 2 scores. Nevertheless, we did a good job in loosing no score during the two fixed time matches.
We also provided a game booth “Engineering 3-link” for players to throw ball into 1 of the basket ball net fixed on 3 separate boards, identifying our 3 streams of modules: “B”, “M” and “O”. The various module names were put on the basket ball backboard. Our booth attracted most players including kids and their parents.

| Firework Boat Trip 2008 |
 |
Despite the cold weather, we have 29 alumni friends and family enjoying the firework on board a boat on 8 Feb 2008 (2nd day of Year of Rat).
Look at the delicious Poon Choi, we are so hungry! But remember the advice from Food and Evnironment Hygiene Dept., we have to wait until Poon Choi is reheated to 75 deg C. So everyone is looking at the thermometer anxiously.
When firewrok started at 8pm, everyone went to upper deck to get an unobstructed view. It was marvellous.

| Our contribution to forming Flags of Harmony and Unity |
 |
Although the weather was not good with some showers, 45 alumni and companions showed up at Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground on 23 September 2007 to join PolyU community in forming the largest human national and HKSAR flags.
We have contributed to the success in breaking the world record with 21,726 participants.
The grass pitch was marked with lines and positions. Each participant entering the pitch has to collect a coloured board and packed closely following the lines. Upon hearing one whistle blow, each one held up coloured board with side "A" facing upward to form the image of the national flag. We have to hold the board until two whistles were blowed. The procedure is repeated by flipping and holding the board to side "B" to form the HKSAR flag.
The event is interesting and meaningful.
