About the Speaker
Mr Marco Szeto Yuen-Kit 司徒元傑先生is an acute artist and professional curator. He studied BEd in Art Education at the University of Warwick in the 80s. During his study, he was the first Hong Kong student to hold a solo art exhibition in the university and his works were collected by the university and Coventry city museum. In the 90s, he obtained his Master Degree in Chinese Art History from the University of Hong Kong and Post-graduate Diploma in Museum Studies from the Sydney University. He is currently the curator of Xubaizhai of the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Marco was awarded the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Public Service in 2010, for his outstanding contribution to the promotion of Chinese painting and calligraphy in Hong Kong

About the Talk
Marco has organized many exhibitions including the renowned national treasures Riverside Scenery at the Qingming Festival (清明上河圖) from the Palace Museum and Prosperous Suzhou (姑蘇繁華圖) from the Liaoning Museum , and also many solo exhibitions of 20th century masters such as Wu Guanzhong (吳冠中) and Feng Zikai (豐子愷). The artworks attest to unquestionable artistic and academic value that makes the exhibitions epitomize the glory of the Chinese culture and art.

The talk will be a retrospection on the organization of these memorable events. Using slides and video clips, Marco will share with participants many interesting behind-the-scene stories from the exhibitions he curated.
